Trail Conditions for 5-1-2026

,

The winter wildlife closures lifted today and there are more trails to explore on what looks to be a sunny weekend!  This is what we refer to as trail crew cross-fit season.  Crews this week cleared Game Creek, Beaver Ponds, West Game, Ferrins, Putt Putt, Hagen, Hagen Highway, KC, Champa, Shade Monkey, lower Phillip’s Canyon, and OPR.  Lots of miles covered with a chainsaw, clearing about 40 trees so far.  Definitely let us know if you see trees down or other problems on the trails with the Trail Maintenance Request button on our website.  That helps us be more efficient with our time so we can get more trail work done.  In general we are weeks ahead of normal with the low snow this winter.  Most of the Cache-Game system is dry except for a few remaining snow patches at the higher elevations in the north facing trees.  Munger is mostly dry on the lower loops and the state land.  Teton Pass is melting and you can explore the multi-use trails from the bottom up.  Trail of the week is Sink or Swim, get up there and traverse Snow King and take in all the shades of green popping out in the forest!
