E-bike Etiquette

Don’t be like Steve!

Friends of Pathways created this short video series to help our community better understand how to use e-bikes safely and responsibly on our shared pathway system. We hope you find it both funny and informative.

As e-bikes become an increasingly common way for students, families, commuters, and visitors to travel, clear guidance on etiquette, speed management, and awareness is more important than ever.

These brief videos provide practical, easy-to-follow tips that help riders make good decisions while protecting the experience of others on the pathway. The goal is to build a culture of awareness, courtesy, and shared responsibility.

Friends of Pathways believes education is one of the most effective ways to improve safety as new transportation technologies become more common. Many riders simply have not been taught best practices for riding e-bikes on multi-use pathways. These videos help fill that gap by providing clear, community-focused guidance that supports both mobility and safety.

We invite you to watch and share these videos with friends, family, and colleagues. Small actions — slowing down, signaling intent, and respecting others — can make a meaningful difference in keeping our pathways welcoming and safe for everyone.

And remember: Don’t Be Like Steve!
