Bridger-Teton National Forest is excited to implement parking lot and sign improvements at Nelson Drive Trailhead. The trailhead area and adjacent trails will be closed temporarily for approximately two weeks to reconstruct the existing parking area into a more efficient and sustainable design that better accommodates visitors and protects soil, plant, and water resources. The project includes regrading the existing native surface road to address chronic erosion and drainage issues. The trailhead will be closed from Monday, August 25th through Friday, September 5th.
Nelson Knoll Loop, Water Tank Road, Lower Putt Putt, Woods Canyon, and Crystal Lite trails will be temporarily closed during construction. Putt Putt, Woods Canyon, and Crystal Butte trails can still be accessed above the closure area from Cache Creek Trailhead.
While the trailhead is closed during the reconstruction project, technicians will gather geo-
technical information adjacent to the existing Forest Service housing units that will inform future Forest Service housing plans.
During the Nelson Trailhead reconstruction project, local pedestrian neighborhood access to Putt Putt and Woods Canyon Trails may occur from the Henley Access Trail off Nelson Drive. Trail users planning to park should use Cache Creek Trailhead.

🚨 Over 1 Million trips have been taken on the Teton County pathways so far this year! 🚨
That’s a 16 percent increase in use over last year at this time. Good job, team!
Every time you step onto the path, you’re making a healthy choice. Keep walking, biking, running, roller blading, and lollygagging on the Black Ribbon of Bliss - let’s make this a record-breaking year for pathway use in Jackson Hole!

Heads up! 🚨 Starting Monday morning, July 28, the section of pathway from the middle school fields to the tunnel under S89 will be closed due to construction on Gregory Lane. A Pathway Closure and Detour is necessary to route pathway users around the construction zone. See map for detour route, which utilizes the pathways on high school road and S89 (follow the yellow dotted lines). The main pathway route will reopen as construction crews advance north on Gregory Lane.

Can’t make it to Bike to Work Wednesday this week?? Swing through Garaman Park from 7:30 am-9:30 am tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. Ryder Benjamin will be selling “On the Go Burritos” for a $7 suggested donation to support an educational trip to Europe he is taking through school next summer. 🌯🌍

Pica’s Day is this Thursday!!! 🌮 Come on out to Pica’s Mexican Taqueria and 20% of proceeds all day will go to Friends of Pathways! In the evening from 5-7 pm, we will have a bike decorating station, @hobacksports will have free bike tunes, and the first 30 folks to bike over will get a free Friends of Pathways hat! 🧢 See y’all there!! 🌮🚲✨

We are about 2 weeks ahead of schedule on trail melting out this year. The old bet was everything would be snow free by July 4th but there are only a few passable snow drifts left on the upper parts of Teton Pass. The trail should be very inviting this weekend with cooler temps and a little rain this morning to knock the dust down. This week crews cleared upper Ski Lake, Phillip’s Pass, and upper Black Canyon, treated weeds at Munger, replaced some pathway counters, surveyed some new connector trails, dug drainage on Black Canyon, and string trimmed around the trailheads. Get out there and enjoy!
