Teton Pass Trails & Downhill Program

Teton FreeRiders Pass The Torch To Friends of Pathways

FOP continues the legacy of the Teton Pass downhill trail system.

Wilson, Wyo. — After two decades of vision, advocacy, and hands-on trail work, Teton FreeRiders has passed the torch for management and upkeep of the Teton Pass downhill trail system to Friends of Pathways.

In addition to maintaining more than 135 miles of close-to-home dirt trails on the Bridger-Teton National Forest, Friends of Pathways is responsible for maintaining and improving the Teton Pass downhill trails, including Parallel Trail, Jimmy’s Mom, Lithium, Candyland, and Powerline Jumps.

These trails are a one-of-a-kind recreational asset for Teton County, built through years of community advocacy, volunteer labor, and deep commitment from Teton FreeRiders. Their work helped create a nationally recognized downhill and freeride trail system that serves a wide range of riders — from kids riding with their parents, to rowdy teens, visiting mountain bikers, pros, and lifelong “retirement rippers.”

Friends of Pathways is proud to carry that legacy forward. With guidance from longtime Teton FreeRiders leader Harlan Hottenstein, who has joined the FOP trail crew, we are committed to maintaining the quality, character, and progression of the downhill trail experience on Teton Pass.

The future of these trails depends on continued community support, responsible riding, and ongoing investment in maintenance and stewardship. Thank you to Teton FreeRiders for creating something truly special, and thank you to everyone who continues to support the downhill trail system through Friends of Pathways.

Friends of Pathways champions a safe, connected system of pathways, trails, bike lanes and sidewalks that encourage active transportation and healthy recreation in our Jackson Hole community.
